Here are a few pictures taken from the 32nd Ward aldermanic debate that took place on January 23rd at the Hamlin Park field house. The event was sponsored by Hamlin Park Neighbors.
We have been fortunate to have some wonderful pictures sent to us from Ed Innis, who lived int the Hamlin Park neighborhood in the 40s and 50s. He has been generous enough to share with us pictures of the old neighborhood as it existed back then.
This photo was taken at Hamlin Park shortly after it opened. The stone pavilion that
separated the playground area from the wading pool and sandpits existed well in the 50's.
Taken in the late 30's, this photo looks East toward Hoyne street from the 2100 block of Belmont.
This photo looks West from Leavitt street from the 2200 block of Belmont, and was taken in the 40's.
